How do I use Private Events?

The private event feature provides an extra layer of discretion for sensitive events

Certain event response activities or the event itself may be sensitive in nature, requiring only those needed in the response to know it is underway. To aid in this information protection, mark your event as a Private Event to restrict access.


How do I create a new Private Event?

When creating an Event, select the Private Event toggle.

How do I make an existing event a Private Event?

  1. Log in with your iluminr credentials.

  2. On the Home screen, select Current Events or the vertical menu, click Event Rooms.

  3. The lock icon shows as open when the event is not private.

  4. Click the lock icon.

  5. A pop-up message will appear, asking you to confirm your action. Click Yes to make the Event Private.

  6. The lock icon will now be closed, indicating the event is private.

Congratulations, the event is now a Private Event!


How do I give a User access to a Private Event?

A Private Event is only accessible by the User who created the Event and any Users who are sent an Activate Teams message from the Private Event.

  1. Log in with your iluminr credentials.

  2. On the Home screen, select Current Events or the vertical menu, click Event Rooms.

  3. In the Event Room send an Activate Teams message to the User/s you would like to give access to the Private Event. Learn more about sending an Activate Teams message.
